Who is chambers

chambers is a family initiative.

The whole idea was born out of the experience of a shortage of student accommodation. The founder has many years of experience in the housing rental industry, which puts him in a favorable position when it comes to advising people in the rental process. This is further backed up by his background as a building constructor.

The administration in chambers is further strengthened by the experience that the staff members have as students. This entails that they can relate to being a student and having to look for student accommodation at the same time.

In many Danish homes, rooms are empty. This is often a result of children having grown up and moved away from home. Not many Danes know that they can earn at least DKK 24,000 a year tax-free – for example by renting out a room in their home. Thus, a basic deduction in connection with renting out a room is 1.33% (2021 rate) of the property value (however, at least DKK 24,000). You can read more on the webiste of the Tax Office by clicking here. There are different rules whether you rent for up to 4 months or more than 4 months. For chambers it will usually be more than 4 months, since a semester lasts 6 months. However, it is up to the individual landlord how long the lease should last.

In this context, the initiative to found chambers arose, to act as a mediator between landlord and tenant. We have found that there is great potential in this, where both landlord and tenant get the optimum benefit.

If this sounds like something for you, whether you want to rent or if you are looking for room, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will respond as soon as possible.
